Last night the Council approved a loan from a developer fees fund to support the Home Key Grant proposal which found itself with a $4.9M budget gap days before they were to submit the grant proposal. (6/20/23 Agenda Item Z.1  Homekey 3 Joint Application for a Permanent Supportive Housing Project).

CM Robinson supported this item. Richmond has no supportative housing to help transition the chronically homeless off the streets and that fully supports them as they reintegrate back into the community. There is no way we can adequately address homelessness without this important tool for those who are the hardest to reach. This is an investment in our community and the people who are most in need.

CM Robinson looks forward to hearing back from the grant committee.

Anoche, el Consejo aprobó un préstamo de un fondo de tarifas para desarrolladores para apoyar la propuesta de subvención Home Key, que se encontró con un déficit presupuestario de $4,9 millones días antes de que presentaran la propuesta de subvención. (Punto Z.1 del orden del día del 20/6/23 Solicitud conjunta de Homekey 3 para un proyecto de vivienda de apoyo permanente).

El CM Robinson apoyó este punto. Richmond no tiene viviendas de apoyo para ayudar a las personas sin hogar crónicas a salir de las calles y que las apoyen plenamente mientras se reintegran a la comunidad. No hay forma de que podamos abordar adecuadamente la falta de vivienda sin esta importante herramienta para aquellos a los que es más difícil llegar. Esta es una inversión en nuestra comunidad y en las personas que más lo necesitan.
