Housing for ALL

  • Mira Flores – Host a community meeting with the new owners of Mira Flores to understand their plans to develop the site and share with them community vision for the site, concerns and needs 

Economic Development & Green Jobs

  • Art CorridorsAdvocate for creating a robust and actionable economic development plan for Richmond that includes the arts corridors and development districts
  • Business Development – Advocate for the creation & hiring of 1) a new staff position who is skilled and experienced in business recruitment, 2) a new staff member who has a track record in successful capacity building for small business and 3) a new staff member who can help create and implement a complex and actionable economic development plan for Richmond
  • Marketing and PR Support – Hire skilled and experienced marketing & PR support staff for the city
  • D3 Business Town hall Meet with business owners in D3 to better understand their needs and the support they would like to see from the City 

Healthy Neighborhoods

  • Traffic Safety – Host neighborhood meetings in each D3 neighborhood council area to identify traffic safety concerns plaguing each neighborhood. These concerns will be added to the city’s traffic safety locations list for evaluation during the next review cycle.
  • Street Sweeping – Make sure all street sweeping enforcement rolls out on time in all neighborhoods.  
  • Blue Curb Policy – Make sure the residential blue curb policy is updated so that it is legal, fair and will be evenly applied.
  • Parks & Recreation Funding – Work with the Richmond Park Equity Project Resident Advisory Group to identify and secure new funding sources for parks and recreation centers. 
  • Supporting Our Seniors – Work with Joe Fisher and Coronado Neighborhood Council to design, secure funding and launch a pilot project in the Coronado neighborhood to assist seniors and disabled residents with landscaping and minor property upkeep needs that may trigger code enforcement but that these residents may not be able to afford or can not physically complete themselves. 
  • Black History Museum – Work with the Black Historical Legacy project to secure a location and create a project plan for a Black History Museum in Richmond. 

Climate Resiliency

  • Improve Climate Action Plan Review the current city climate action plan and work with city staff and consultants to update so that goals are actionable, time-based and outcomes measured on an annual basis. 
  • Asthma Education – Co-host a Town hall on asthma in Richmond. 

Improving City Services and Maintenance of the Built Environment

  • Repair Our Streets – Continue to seek additional funding sources to improve road quality and make long overdue capital improvements and improve the maintenance of city assets.
  • Assess City Buildings – Ensure the facilities assessment is funded, completed and projects prioritized so the facilities assessment is actionable 
  • Street Sweeping – Make sure all street sweeping enforcement rolls out on time in all neighborhoods.
  • Blue Curb Policy – Update the residential blue curb policy so that it is updated so that it is legal, fair and will be evenly applied.
  • Language Justice – Create and execute a plan to provide simultaneous Spanish translation in all city council meetings 
  • Improve Paratransit – Make sure improvements are made to City’s Para transit: A) increase ridership, B) improve outreach and 3) improve cost per ride.

City Accountability

  • HR Policies – Make sure city policy is improved and enforced so that all city employees complete a robust annual performance evaluation
  • City Attorney Contract – Evaluate the strategy of using a contracted external council instead of an internal staff member as city attorney.
